Moving Arts Española’s Roger Montoya and Aaron Martinez, along with community organizer Ralph Martinez will be presenting their stories at the 2nd Annual ‘Celebrate a Culture of Healing’
Moving Arts Española, True Kids 1 from Taos, and Kids for Global Peace’s FREE, three- week day camp will culminate with a Youth Human Rights Town Hall at Moving Arts Española from 5- 6PM. The Town Hall will stream online and be broadcast LIVE on KSFR Santa Fe.
During their time, kids ages 8 through 16-years-old engaged through digital media story sharing, fun activities, games, and discussions to learn about the 13 Human Rights for Kids as put forth in Eleanor Roosevelt’s Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Students have also had the opportunity to work with a professional choreographer from New York and a Grammy award winning musician in creating a music video PSA, which will air on Amazon and Netflix. True Kids 1 will lead youth in creating and producing the video, while also providing journalistic coverage of the camp.

This intensive style workshop, for ages 10 and up (adult dancers are encouraged as well), will include ballet and modern technique classes, dance conditioning, repertoire, improvisation, and additional enrichment classes.

Northern New Mexico Youth Arts Showcase
United Way of Northern New Mexico in partnership with Northern New Mexico College presents an evening celebrating many of the region’s aspiring performing artists, while providing an opportunity for parents and caregivers to learn about the rich range of arts organizations and programs available throughout Northern New Mexico.
Please join us for this FREE event with arts, food, and fun for families, children, and youth of all ages.
Kick off the event mixing and mingling with students and teachers from diverse regional organizations including New Mexico School for the Arts, New Mexico Hispano Music Association, Taos Youth Ballet, Española Valley Fiber Arts Center, Tewa Dancers of the North, Northern New Mexico Regional Arts Center, Moving Arts Espanola, Peñasco Theater Collective, Dance Arts Los Alamos, Española Public Schools, Lightening Boy Hoop Dancers, Northern Youth Project ,White Buffalo Arts Center, and Isaiah Lopez of Spanish Colonial Arts.
Organization students will then present works in dance, music, drama, and film. The public will move to the adjoining annex to discover and learn about the different participating organizations––hailing from Santa Fe to Taos and points in between! The evening includes informational tables, live music, and free food from Espanola’s own Moving Arts Culinary Arts Students, who have been feeding hearts and fueling imaginations since 2008.
This is the first event of its kind in the Española Valley.
