Please join us for a youth-created participatory performance and discussion about the state of immigration in our state. This short work was created during the Moving Arts Reimagining Youth Leadership Project two-week intensive by Youth ages 11-20. Performers will showcase a short work, then invite the audience to enter the action, change outcomes and stimulate discussion. This is a community event that encourages our understanding and support of humane immigration policy.
Special Circus Camp with instructors from The Peñasco Theater Collective! Learn to walk on stilts! Practice aerials on fabric, hoop, and trapeze. Students gain confidence, agility, balance and strength as they work cooperatively in a creative, fun and challenging day camp! Monday - Friday, 10am to 2pm. Lunch and snacks will be provided. The Reimagining Youth Leadership in the Arts Pilot Project at Moving Arts Española will bring together nine youth ages 13 to 20 for a three-week intensive project in critical reflection and performative art making. Students will use the artistic disciplines of theater, spoken word, dance, and movement to explore a thematic focus centered on immigration policy making, civil rights, and social justice. The project is sponsored by the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation and the LANL Foundation.
