MAE Director and Alumni Interviewed on KRQE News 13 New Mexico

Excerpt from KRQE website

"ESPANOLA, N.M. (KRQE) - A local program designed to steer kids in Northern New Mexico down the right path is celebrating its 10-year anniversary.

The program, which has seen more than 5,000 students come through, continues to see success with students moving on to higher education.

When school ends, organizers say that's when children are at their most vulnerable. To help give kids a safe haven to learn, while expressing themselves creatively, organizers established Moving Arts Espanola. It's a crucial program they say helps families living in an area faced with poverty and drugs.

"We've played a small role but a crucial role in how they found passion and purpose through the arts," said Roger Montoya, Program Director."
